Joe Sgro grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he learned and worked in his father’s barbershop. He came to the United States and eventually bought his first shop in 1964 in Landerwood Plaza. Joe Sgro’s Men’s Hairstyling was born. Joe was a professionally trained stylist who became one of the first to be trained in Edmond Roffler’s European Straight Razor cutting technique, which today is still very popular. Joe Sgro’s Men’s Hairstyling moved to Commerce Park III in Beachwood in 1970. Finally in 1984 Joe moved his barbershop to its present location on Warrensville and Almar.

In 2005 Joe’s daughter Trish Sgro took over the family business and Sgro’s Barbershop was born. Trish has been keeping the tradition of professional styles at affordable prices alive and well. She takes great pride in the skills and techniques that she learned from her father.

Today, Sgro’s Barbershop is staffed with five full time barber stylists. Our stylists can help you achieve the look you want. If you’re in the mood for a special treat, stop in and lay back in our barber chairs for an old fashioned Straight Razor Shave. It’s still the closest shave you can get.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to learn a little about our family history, and would like to welcome you the customer to our family at Sgro’s Barbershop.
